Skinny dip

Got another thing off my list!
Since my mom's friend is on vacay for a month, we have been entrusted to take care of her house and pets.
They got such a nice and big pool too.
Been wanting to swim in it.

And so tonight, I did.
Waited til sunset.
Then off my clothes go, and in I go for a dip.
Was kind of worried the neighbors will sneak a peek and take pictures.
Hopefully they didn't.
Otherwise I'll be known as the naked chick in neighbor's pool.

On another note, I didn't think planning or drawing up houses was this time consuming.
It also requires advance thinking.
Huhuhu I saw this kid on youtube building a small mansion using posicle sticks and glue
And it took him two years to finish it.
Holy cow.
I don't know if I can do this.
If I start it, I sure as hell have to finish it no matter what.
With an attention span that I have, chances are very slim.
Though.... I WILL TRY.

I think.

Exit wounds

Posted this pic online.

Jae says we look alike.
I was soooo tempted to say this: "We should look alike. Otherwise we will question our mother."
LOL
My brother is always the serious type, and me the goofy one.
It makes me mad though... lighten the eff up brah!

Forever grateful

Took our finals today at noon.
I don't know why they scheduled it for noon.
It's like the worse time to take tests.
But whatever.
I thought Professor G's questions were easy.
It's just Nancy's and D's that I found difficult.
Especially Nancy's... I barely studied for her part of the test.
And those were the ones I got the most wrong.
Let's see.

G's: I got 17 out of 20.
D's: 16 out of 20.
Nancy's: 19 out of 25
Drug calculations: 10 out of 10

All in all, I had 62/75

Pretty sad that Anne didn't pass the block :(
Such a bummer!!!!

I've grown to like her too.
I feel so bad for her....
Lord please help her.

I now have a 84%
I should just be happy that I passed.
But being a perfectionist that I am, I keep thinking I could've gotten that up.
Whateves Bo, shut up.

But I do thank God for helping me through this.
I've been so stressed, depressed, angry, and even thought to submit my resume to a dancing establishment.
It scared me to death.
I know it's going to be like that all over again in block 2.
Lord, I'm always gonna need strength from you.
Please, look out for me and my family.
And forgive me for not thanking You enough.
I am grateful.

Sore

I hiked Camelback Mountain for the first time two days ago.
Wanted to see what the fuss was all about.
"It can't be worse than Squaw Peak. I got this!" I thought.
Ho....ly.... shit
That was the most intense hike I've ever done!
I'm still sore from it.
It was literally like rock climbing but without the rope and everything.
If you fall, that's it for you buddy.
But I'm sort of glad I did it.
One less thing off my bucket list.

The dreaded rail

Most of the trail was like this.

It gets more intense.

Going down was even more painful. My legs were giving out on me.

I might do this again lol.

Also bumped into Jasmine, Angel and Diane when I got to the top.
Didn't expect to see them up there.
So I guess Lanie will be here sometime this week.
That girl I swear... I think it's her second visit this year lol.

Was planning on going somewhere to keep my mind busy.
To distract me from missing someone.
Just can't find anyone to go on a roadtrip with.
Sigh.

Disappointment

Took the HESI for the first time since I started nursing school.
I gotta say I'm very disappointed and very upset with the teachers.
The week before we took our HESI, we had a review class.
I was excited too because some of those questions showed up on the test itself.
What really made me angry was that they were giving us the wrong answers.
Especially this one question. I initially picked the right answer but the teacher said it was wrong.
So I went by with what she said and totally got it wrong on the test.
The right one was my initial answer.
I feel so cheated.

I texted my friend about it, and then he was able to reassure me.
He said to just go by THEIR rules even if they're full of bullshit.
Just pass nursing school.
And upon graduating, start studying for the REAL thing.
Meaning, I have to actually read the whole NCLEX review book.
Sounds legit to me.

BRING IT ON BITCHES.
Still disappointed though.
I thought school was going to be helpful.
I guess I was wrong.

Dating??

I think the last date I had was back in March.
Was gonna plan on having a couple dates this month but....
that's nursing school for you.

A.A.

One day, we're gonna come back and re-live those thoughts. One day, we'll look at the past with love.

My new found obsession~
Kinda strange that the only song I don't quite dig is the one that's mainstream (Best Day of my Life).
This one is my favorite out of the whole Oh, What a Life album.

Nurse Student

The nurse eye roll site inspired me to make my own A day in the life of a nursing student.
I hope other nurse students can relate to this.
This is just a way of dealing with all the stress I'm experiencing right now.
Your sense of humor is nonexistent if you can't laugh at yourself.
Well enjoy!

First day of class where I initially aim to ace my tests and get a 90 above percentage.

First test, I get a 90.

During practicum, when the preceptor says "stop!" and asks what I'm missing, and I don't know what to tell her because I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

When the professors' lectures conflict with each other and totally differ from the books.

When the teacher says to study some of the materials on our own, without regards to upcoming tests, assignments, practicum, and clinical assignments.

Studying on my own.

Two of my classmates and I reminisce about the time we gave a patient a shower and came out of there all drenched because none of us knew what to do.

I failed my second test.

When my clinical instructor said we only have to do one care plan.

That one nurse who doesn't let us do any nursing tasks in our clinical site.

When the teacher is lecturing in class and the other students in the back are talking very loud.

That one student in class who keeps interrupting the lecture to ask irrelevant questions.

When I almost forget that an assignment is due that was never mentioned in class.

I get to school at 6am and wait in my car for the building to open.

In a study group, when someone adds stuff that we don't need to know.

When my grade dropped by 9 points.

The teacher says it's time to go but still keeps on talking for 30 more minutes.

That's all folks!
